Book restoration in progress

I've been working on restoring the New Century Dictionary as a learning project.

First step take it apart (5" of book pages)

Covers and spine

Corners are ratty and someone used scotch tape that pulled off strips of the cover paper.

I used leathery scrapbook paper to cover missing areas.   This paper is strong and stretches to be forgiving.  It glues well too.

Edge covered and stabilized.

Corners stabilized with book cloth.

Reassembly starts
