A finish and two new starts

Woven wool rug
Finished a wool rug and a few mug rugs.  My floor loom is now naked.
New warp

New socks
Attended a lovely warping workshop this weekend.  Am attempting to warp a table loom with repp weave warp.  Lovely colors!  Already goofed, should have followed instructions closer!

Also starting a new sock, Cestar, 75% cotton 25% wool.  Picked up Socks a la carte Toes up! book and am following along.  Will probably attempt a lacy body for a change.

Finally a little color from my native Florida garden.

A bit of this, a dash of that

Today's creative product
Had a lovely morning with the basket makers.  Billy Owens was kind enough to travel all the way from Missouri to help us put together our white oak baskets.   This is the oval basket.  Last year his son-in-law taught us how to make a yarn basket (in background) and several others.  It amazing to hear the details of starting with a tree and ending with the materials we use to weave our basket with.  Materials and techniques indigenous to the Ozarks, functional, lovely and true to it's roots.  There aren't many people, with the knowledge, who will take the time to do all the work needed to create the materials for these baskets.   We are very fortunate and grateful.

Origami fold with bitty books

Here is an interesting card.  It started with an origami fold page and ended up as a flower with two bitty books, tucked in.  Quite chuffed!  Just followed the inspiration along to see where it went.  Need to do more of these!

Halfway through May already!

Spring on Cape Cod
Spent the week on Cape Cod.  It is sort of spring there.  The trees don't have leaves yet, just buds. Thank goodness, I knew to wear wool socks!  The geese and babies were up and feeding when we walked to breakfast.  What is up with Google Reader!  Doesn't seem to mark as read.  If you start to read through newer posts but don't get through you have to wade through posts on either end to get to the middle not read yet ones!
