Joe likes his neck scratched

I am falling behind blogging my adventures so in true stew fashion, I am tossing them together here.  Above is a day spent spinning on the front porch of the Bailey log cabin.  These photos are of the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement in Blountstown Florida.  It is a magical place!  Time moves more slowly here.  Birdsong dances with fiddles and guitars and blacksmith hammering.  Melissa and I spent the day chatting with the carvers in-between waves of children and their teachers.  Melissa's lovely wheel is revolutionary war era.  This is older than the 1880's log cabin that we are sitting on!
Carolyn
Happy workshop students

This was the monthly workshop at PCA Guild, another wonderful morning.  Carolyn showed us how to laminate papers on muslin and decorate to use in fiber art projects and notecards.  Carolyn is a wonderful, talented instructor.  I would enjoy anything she teaches.

It is so difficult to choose which photos to post.  Here is an assortment, giving a taste of beautiful Eufaula in the Spring.  I have a cat in my lap and am typing one handed so the text is going to be short.  I do wish to mention the garden with the birdbath and Savanah girl statue.  It was the prettiest yard in town and not on the tour.  The gracious owner invited us in to tour and photograph.  Every corner had lovely plants and architecture elements added to the scape.  Just spectacular!

Eufaula Pilgrimage

Warning lots of photos in this post!
Lovely welcome to Eufaula

Pretty in Blue

Azaleas and Dogwood blooming everywhere
Spent Friday and Saturday in Eufaula with my BFF.  Had a grand and glorious time!  We toured homes and gardens of the fourty-sixth annual Eufaula Pilgrimage.

They had a very bad storm come through about a week ago and many of the dogwood blossoms were down.  Bulbs and flower beds were beat down too.  I managed some decent photos with the big Nikon and will share some here and in the next post.
All dressed up for the show
The town did a lovely job hosting the hoards that descended.  Everything was well organized and the locals very friendly.

The house below was not on the tour, but was one of my favorites,  interesting shape and nice  bones.
One of my favorite houses

Kendall Manor
The home to the right was on the candlelight tour.  It was newly restored and the owners keen to show it off.  Each of the homes had musicians on the front or back porch.  Here it was a bell choir.  Many had flutes and hammered dulcimers which were devine!

They had opportunities to meet and talk with Southern authors.  I met Jeanetta Britt and purchased her murder mystery "Pickin Ground".  I started it last evening and could easily loose myself in it for the day if the back yard grass wasn't a foot deep.
