Toadally Chuffed!

Is it May already?  It can't be!  Well here is what I've been up to apart from work and battling mice.

Restoration of the 1915 C&P is complete

Here Jeremy and I are leveling the platen

Sorting and cleaning

First plate printed on restored C&P
Restoration is complete on the Panama Publishing Museum 1915 Chandler & Price Printing Press!  The photo of the first printing doesn't look like much, but I am very proud of it.  Printing old worn plates isn't the easiest thing to do.   I used some Buddy magic on this one.  I could not have completed this undertaking without Jeremy and Buddy's help and am very grateful for their support.   I would also like to thank Mr. Rob Rosner, St. Andrews CRA Director, for supplying new rollers, trucks and gauge pins!   Ms. Hanna Ross for her boundless enthusiasm and encouragement.

Ah, take a breath.  So much to learn.  So far to go.  So much dust and dirty scattered type.  I've signed up for Ladies of Letterpress conference in Asheville this Fall and a platen press class afterword at the Bookworks.  Committed to this new adventure.  The journey begins with a single step, and then another..
