So I've been exploring with paper on water.  I was shocked to learn how quickly paper sinks!  My first attempt was from my kayak on a pretty windy day.  The paper sank before I could maneuver the kayak in place to photograph it.   So,  how to keep the paper from sinking so fast!  Starch was an obvious candidate.  While I was rummaging in the cabinets for the laundry starch, I found Fabric Stiffy!  If the starch wouldn't work, then surely Fabric Stiffy would.  Humm....

Book Art Object Book

Several months ago (seems like 2 days ago), I signed up to participate in an international Book Art Challenge at Book Art Object.  My book title is "To See What He Could See".  I have been plugging away at ideas and pulling it together, but didn't have anything that I was totally excited about.  Recently on one of the book blogs I saw photos of a sheet of paper on water and I thought, "What a neat idea!" I live on the water and have thousands of photos with boats and water in them.  I knew I wanted to relate the book to "A sailor went to sea, to see what he could see..." Yesterday was local Farmer's market at the marina so I took my new point and shoot and gathered some images to start putting on paper.

Magical Day

Spent Saturday with Kyle Durrie and her wonderful Type Truck at the St. Andrews Publishing Museum.  Ben Franklin (aka David L. Young) stopped by with his poem "Quill Chill of Free Speech 2012".  Bagels, coffee and letterpress, it doesn't get much better than that.

Works in Progress

I am not one to make resolutions as I am too tempted to start down a new path that comes along.  I've reached SABLE (Stash Beyond Life Expectancy) so don't expect to finish everything.  But plugging along at a variety of projects to keep my interest, eventually most are completed.  This blog has been a good reminder of how much I do complete since once they are done the projects are given away or become part of the landscape.
