Summer camp for book artists

I was fortunate to be accepted into Paper and Book Intensive last month in Saugatuck Michigan.  The experience was overwhelming and incredible!  Here are a few photos of the Ox Bow School of Art where we stayed and worked.
New Inn

Old Inn build in 1870's
I stayed in the New Inn on the second floor.  14 rooms, 2 women per room, 2 bathrooms! We were lucky that we had heat! The Old Inn did not.

Ox Bow is on a peninsula and surrounded by water.

So peaceful!

Lilac's were in bloom and smelled divine!

Lots of smaller outbuildings and cabins scattered about

All different and eclectic

Up the hill, through the snowbells to class every morning

Native and non natives in my yard

In no particular order thanks to blogger, a few plants from my yard.
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow bush.  The flowers start out purple and fade over a couple of days

This was a gift from the gods this morning.  I rolled the trash out and this lovely flower was sitting in the driveway.
Thank you for the lovely gift!

This is a native plant.  Soapwart.

More soapwart and newly planted beach daisy

Miss Natawny.  She has lightened up in the last couple of weeks.

Native magnolia.  Between magnolia blossoms and confederate jasmine, the back yard is devine!

In love with natives

I've been trying to add native plants to my yard over the last several years.  They take less water and the bees and butterflies like them.  Here are photos from a recent trip to De Funiak Springs.  These are of a native plant garden at their charming library on the lake.  In a later post, I'll show some of the natives from my yard.

Honeysuckle

Native azaleas

Native azalea

Possibly rain lily.  We saw hundreds by the side of the road on our recent trip. Stunning!

Hanging out with dogs

I supported Canine Companion's charity this weekend by participating in a dog walk!  I don't have a dog.  I wish I had a dog.  This was fun and a lovely cool day for this sort of thing.
We walked around this lovely pond

Dogs of every shape, size and flavor
Walker's stretched out around the lake
Walking companions Carolyn and her cute dog
